More email trouble!  It's just come to my attention that mail to info@prairieartsandfibers.com hasn't been coming through.  Hopefully this is now remedied, but an alternate address is linda@prairieartsandfibers.com.

Chas Designs

We were privileged to host a trunk show and sale of Chas Designs jewelry, which you really have to see to believe.  Bead artist Cheri Stewart does intricate and amazing work, and it was a fun afternoon.  We will carry some of her pieces in the store, and do a special show and sale again as we approach the holidays.

New yarns and patterns

It's that time of year when we all start to wonder where summer went...  Our summer yarns have gone to storage, and new fall and winter yarns are vying for shelf space and attention.  We are all wanting to knit or crochet them all NOW!  I know I'm doing the finishing touches on a rainbow and black scarf made from Lamb's Pride, hoping to inspire some of you to knit in stripes.  (For ME that's a lot more fun than sticking with one color!)

I'm trying out a new 'toy' called the Fibersphere.  it's a clear plastic ball that holds the yarn so it can safely roll on the floor.  I'll let you know how my cats like it!  It's not unusual for me to find that the cats have put a ball of yarn in the dogs' waterbowl overnight.  I don't know whether this says more about their feeling for the dogs or my yarn stash.

Trends for fall are for the big and small--lace and socks on one end and the big, chunky yarns on the other.  We've got it all, including needles and patterns!

Galena Canning Company samples are at the Farm Market every Saturday morning (9-12), so be sure to stop by.  We've got some new products, which I'm sure will be as tasty and popular as the others.

The Lake County KTogether Meetup meets here on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of the month, from 7-9.  For more info, go to http//knitting.meetup/499/boards.   Crocheters are welcome, too!  This is a good-sized group that has LOTS of fun together!

We will also be participating in the Think Outside the Sox event!  Watch for info about this in the new issues of knitting magazines, or go online at http://ThinkOutsideTheSOX.com.

If you're part of a stitching group and would like to visit the store, let us know.  We've sent letters to 65 local churches, and will be letting schools and new residents know about us, too.

Kids' Open Knitting is on Sunday afternoons from 3-5.  Bring in your projects, have some lemonade, and share knitting time with other young knitters.

It's art fair season!  I'm spending my Sundays at juried art fairs, looking for new things for the store.  Nice job, no?
